Steve Kingston’s Cortona Media has filed a deal to buy WYRE Annapolis, MD from Richard Dent. Cortona Media has operated the station under a local marketing agreement since July 2023, simulcasting the online version of the former WRNR Annapolis, the adult alternative station Kingston’s Empire Broadcasting recently sold for $1.54 million to religious broadcaster The Peter and John Fellowship.
Jose Gonzalez is appointed PD of Bonneville's “Sactown Sports 1140AM” KHTK, succeeding Brian Gebhardt, who was named PD in January 2023. Gonzalez, who will assume his new role on Feb. 12, most recently served as PD/morning host at Fat Dawgs Broadcasting “790 ESPN” KFPT and “1430 ESPN” KFIG in Fresno.
Crossover Media Group, the content production and ad-sales rep firm, has bought an equity stake in Take On The Day, the production company co-founded in 2005 by longtime talk radio advice host and podcaster Dr. Laura Schlessinger. The deal follows a multi-year advertising-sales and production partnership between the two organizations. Terms of the transaction were not announced.
