From a national radio advertising perspective, the last full week of January looked pretty much the same as the week before. The identical brands were in the top five of both weeks although in a slightly different order. The exceptions were Babbel (4-3) and Vicks (3-4), which swapped positions as Lowe’s and Progressive stayed at first and second, respectively, and Discover held steady a No. 5.
In fact, the only advertiser who didn’t appear in the top 10 both weeks was Morgan & Morgan, which squeaks in at tenth place in the latest spot tracker from Media Monitors.
Car Shield, which offers vehicle service plans, returns to the top 100 for the first time since September 2022 and charts at its highest position yet (No. 11). It is one of five advertisers in the Business & Consumer Services category, ahead of Wesley Financial Group at 25, ezCater at No. 37, Kelly Blue Book at No. 78, and Autotrader at No. 97.
The insurance category remained a stalwart radio category, placing seven entries in the top 100. Progressive is once again in the lead at No. 2, followed by Allstate at No. 13, State Farm at No. 34, Liberty Mutual at No. 50, Term Provider at No. 61, SelectQuote at No. 74, and Ethos Technologies at No. 92.
For the week of Jan. 22.-28, 2024, the top 10 on the Media Monitors tally are Lowe’s at 1, Progressive at 2, Babbel at 3, Vicks at 4, Discover at 5, ZipRecruiter at 6, Wendy’s at 7, Jackson Hewitt at 8, Upside at 9 and Morgan & Morgan at 10.
